| I just wanted to add a few points to Woody's feedback he previously posted. Most importantly, if you install these hood struts, you need to make sure your car battery isn't too large. I have a Duralast 24F-DL. The issue is that because it is wider (over 1.5" wider), the hood strut will clip the corner of the battery and won't allow the hood to close completely. I still plan on keeping the kit (Matt offered a refund), but will probably just go with a yellow top Optima. 24F-DL Battery Height: 225 mm - 8 7/8 in Battery Length: 273 mm - 10 3/4 in Battery Width: 173 mm - 6 13/16 in Matt said that there should be no issues if the battery is of the 35 type. 35-DL Battery Height: 225 mm - 8 7/8 in Battery Length: 230 mm - 9 1/16 in Battery Width: 175 mm - 6 15/16 in The bolts are SS. The power coating is so-so. I had them painted black, but its more of a matte black, and it seems like if you give it a bad look, it'll scratch. So, I'd probably plan on glossing it yourself with some caliper paint or something. Also, you may struggle a bit for those of you with the normal fuel filter bracket and a master cylinder brace. You need to put the hood strut bracket at the very bottom, and then the fuel filter bracket, and then the MCB. I shimmed the MCB with a few washers so that when I tightened down the bolt the MCB wasn't slanted. Lastly, there are no instructions. It isn't rocket science, so if you look at the youtube video or Woody's post, you can figure out how the brackets on the hood should sit. However, the brackets on the body aren't obvious because both only offset the pivot point by an inch.
